"What ever made you decide to go to Vietnam?"

Ever since we announced our plans to honeymoon in Vietnam, we have been asked this. We wanted to go somewhere that neither of us had been and where we might never make the effort to go to again, given the distance and costs involved. The Galapagos Islands was the other place we considered. We could got to Vietnam for two weeks for the same amount of money that we could go to the Galapagos for a week. Vietnam won for its variety of opportunities and amazing food.

Vietnam is a very long country and although there are many places that are "must sees," we had to limit our excursions to keep our trip enjoyable. We spent our two weeks in northern Vietnam; Hanoi, Sapa Valley, Halong Bay and Cuc Phuong jungle.

Would we, given the chance, go again? Absolutely!

Choosing the best images from the over 2000 pictures I took was a difficult task. Rice fields, water buffalo, extremely friendly people and markets with everything. Feel free to ask if you want to know more aboue a particular image. Here are the best 147 of them from Week 1.
