Dissection August 2009

August 2009 marked the first time I did a central nervous system and craniosacral system dissection. Ten therapists of all types, including a occupational therapist, speech language therapist and massage therapists, gathered around the table with scalpel and cameras in hand, full of curiosity to explore what the body has to reveal.

We had the priviledge of having doctors, Gilbert Rao, MD, a neurosurgeon from the Philipines and Dave Jackson, MD join us.

We did a complete lamenectory, explored the sciatic nerve and vagus nerve and dissected a lumbar disc. Then my battery died, just as we were opening the cranium. I learned my lesson: always have a spare battery and memory card. Don't worry there are lots of craniums we have explored in other dissections.

Enjoy!
